Sandak with a Plexiglas shield

Last month, Rav Chaim Kanievsky resumed serving as sandak once again after an eight-month break. And this week, Slabodka Rosh Yeshivah Rav Dov Landau accepted the requests of his grandchildren and agreed to serve as sandak for a new great grandson — but from behind a Plexiglas shield, while wearing gloves.
It was a stirring image, the power of mesorah and connectivity with the past, fused with innovation necessitated by the contemporary reality we’re living through today.
